Your Life's BlueprintDr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s most famous and often quoted speech is "I Have a Dream." To celebrate and educate (myself mostly), I set out to find other messages from him that are just as powerful. One such message is called, "What is Your Life's Blueprint?" A blueprint is a design plan that architects use to build houses. It is a guide to make something. A pattern to follow. We all follow blueprints whether we know it or not. We are either living our lives using a blueprint that we design for ourselves or following the designs that others build for us. To live life on your terms, you have to be the architect of it, and follow the plan that you design. Your Personal MissionJust like most businesses have mission statements, a part of your life's blueprint should include a personal mission statement, which outlines your vision for your life and how you plan to achieve it. It includes your core values, which are the fundamental beliefs that guide your behavior and keep you on the path to reaching your goals. The video that follows is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s What is Your Life's Blueprint? Speech. It was initially delivered to a group of teenagers but is relevant for us all. Start the New Year DifferentDesigning a blueprint is like setting a goal. It is a goal frankly. A goal is something you want to accomplish, and the objectives are the steps or design plan required to reach it. This video is a reboot on how you can Start the New Year Different by setting SMART Goals & Objectives.
